I totally wasn't gonna get one since I barely use my Big Shot, but my LSS offered it for a really low price on preorder so I snatched one up. Don't have it in my hands yet but I'm hoping I will soon! I also got the Basic Shapes 3, Noteworthy & Falala cartridges.

Well, I had no takers on providing one for me, so I bought one today. Cross you fingers that I use it more than my dusty Bind it All. LOL!

Do you have it in-hand or does it need to ship? Have you used it yet?

Glad you asked. LOL! Actually, I have been using it quite a lot. In all honesty I don't feel it is necessary to have. I definitely could live without it, but is has been fun. Here's some of my thoughts:

  • One thing I wish it had is more variations in size of the cut. It has 1/2" increments and I wish it had 1/4". Perhaps this is something that is controlled in the design cards and can be added in the future cards.

  • Also related to cut, I wish it started at 1/2" size. I noticed some do, but most start at 1". A few times I have chosen 1" and the size has been much smaller than the listed size, so there is some size discrepancy.

  • The simple shapes cuts well with most paper, but the shapes with more cut outs...such as deer, snowflakes, etc...I am still having trouble using Bazzill. Not sure if it is due to the thickness or the texture. I need to play a bit more with this. Not being able to work with Bazzill is a big thing as that paper is one of the most widely used cardstocks. I am sure I am the problem here...not the Slice. You would think they would want it to work with it. Maybe I am wrong.

  • It is a great size for traveling, so when I head to my cousins or Archiver's it will be easy to transport.

  • I love the different fonts and variation of design card themes.

  • The gluing of the glass plate isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Basically, you brush on a layer of glue and wait for it to dry. I did this the first time I used it and am at the point that I now need to re-apply. So you don't have to glue every time. I can even handle that.

  • I am afraid of losing those design cards. They are teeny tiny and expensive.

  • It is noisy for a little machine, so if I was to use it at Archiver's I would be a little hesitant to disrupt others. I'd get over it though, because I have an attitude at times.

That is all I can think up at the moment. I hope this helps. If I think up anything more, I will let you know.
